Hiding the fact that you work part –time?

Interesting article in the Guardian on the lengths professional women go to when trying to conceal the fact that they work part-time, both to colleagues and clients. Strategies include women answering emails and phone calls on their days off, asking assistants to tell callers that they are in meetings, or even leaving their coats on chairs to give the impression they are in the office. Senior women seem to be reluctant to discuss they fact that they work part-time, possibly because it might give the impression that they are ‘uncommitted’, or that they don’t want to jeopardise hard-won arrangements with management.  What are your experiences of working part-time?
